We love our plants in our gardens and in our homes. We carry a wide range of houseplants including Bonsai, orchids, cacti and succulents. Our Division location carries the widest range of plants. Plan to spend the day wandering through our extravagant houseplant displays.

It only comes once a year and the sale is good at both locations, but if you come to 9000 SE Division, you'll find the widest assortment of houseplants including orchids, bonsai, and all the supplies you need.

Selecting and Caring for Houseplants for Beginners

Choosing the right plant for your spot and the level of care you can give is the first important element in feeling confident about your indoor plants; Sean will make some suggestions for good houseplants and explain how to keep them happy.

Planning for Four Seasons of Fragrance

Smell is the most evocative of the senses, and one that can be used to make your garden inviting year-round. Chris of Youngblood Nursery will talk about some of the shrubs, trees and other plants you can integrate into your garden plans to enchant the noses of all your garden visitors. Consider how your use of the garden changes so you can place your perfumed plants where you'll notice them in season.

Houseplants 101

Grow your green thumb just in time for our Annual Houseplant Sale! Jason Dennis, Assistant Houseplant Buyer, will teach you the basics to successfully grow houseplants and send you home confident in keeping your indoor plants happy and thriving. Jason will cover lighting conditions, watering and fertilizing methods, correct soils to use, humidity issues, common pests, and great troubleshooting tips. He will also discuss how to choose the perfect houseplants for your home or office.

Terrariums 101

Join terrarium fanatic Angelina Ponce to learn the basics of creating a mini ecosystem in a glass container! Angelina will take you through the process step-by-step, discussing terrarium “ingredients”, lighting and moisture requirements, and choosing the right plant combinations for a healthy, thriving terrarium. She will also give great tips for how to use different container styles and decorative additions to spice up your little green scene!

Begonias Begonias Begonias

Add color and texture to your houseplant display with begonias! Gary is a begonia grower and hybridizer; he’ll talk about the different classes of begonias you’ll find, their characteristics and needs, with example plants for those classes so you can see the differences. You’ll also learn about new varieties coming up in the begonia world!

Easy Orchids as Houseplants

Orchids are so diverse, and some are easier to grow than others. In our climate, only a few are winter-hardy, so many people grow them as houseplants or in greenhouses. Michael will give a basic introduction to choosing and growing the easiest orchid varieties for success in your home.

Growing & Repotting Orchids

Have you always wanted to grow orchids? Is your orchid getting too cramped but you don’t know how to repot it? Learn the basics of growing different orchid varieties from expert Lori Rheinberger, of the Oregon Orchid Society. Lori will discuss proper growing mediums, fertilizer, light and water requirements, growth habits, and will do a live repotting demonstration. She will help you figure out how to select an orchid that’s right for your home or office to maximize your success.
