Fruit Preserves with Cara Haskey

Learn a variety of methods and recipes for preserving the beautiful Oregon berries and fruit that begin arriving in your backyard and the local farmers’ markets in late spring. Through demonstration and interactive lecture class participants will

We’ll cover it all—from berry jam to fruit leather to apple pie filling—and each participant will have the opportunity to sample fresh, low-sugar berry jam made during the class. Japanese Maple Pruning with Holly Beare

We’ve all seen those weeping maples with awful haircuts, or red Japanese maples with clumps of green leaves here and there. This class will provide information for homeowners on how to prune and shape their Japanese maples, improving their appearance and health. Some basic information on use and care of pruning tools will also be provided. If you have purchased a Japanese maple before the class, or want to bring in your own from home to work on, please bring your own hand pruners, small pruning saw, and gloves. We will provide disinfectant for pruners.

Water-wise Gardening
