Class led by Ginny Maffitt, Berry Botanic Care. Faux-stone pots called troughs are easily and inexpensively constructed when using three easily available ingredients. The troughs mimic wildly-expensive historic stone sinks from Europe. Their value is in nurturing alpine, desert or even bog plants which otherwise don't thrive away from the native environment. Learn from discussion, video and viewing of a large trough constructed. Pat on a few handfuls of the mix to get a feel for the texture. Take home handouts concerning the 'chemistry' of construction and list of plants which benefit from trough-living.
