This year’s event will be on Tuesday, September 14 1:00-5:00 pm.
Sponsors Portland Parks & Recreation Friends of the Portland Memory Garden, Home Instead and Portland Nursery come together to provide a day of hands-on activities and demonstrations geared especially for the elder gardeners in our community.

Refreshments and plenty of seating are provided, areas of activity are covered so the weather can be fair or foul and the day proceeds with everyone having a great time! In addition to activities, there is a special discount coupon for seniors; volunteers and nursery staff will be on hand to assist with shopping and answer questions.
Live music from 2:00-4:00pm again this year will be by Reggie Houston’s Box of Chocolates – a big favorite with jazz, blues and swing, New Orleans Style!

Everyone is invited including seniors and their families, individuals and facilities serving seniors.
A much-anticipated event, groups from assisted living facilities and senior centers in the area reserve special field trips to attend and individuals come on their own or with family or friends. It is a day of crafts, learning, remembering and camaraderie.
To help the day run smoothly, we request that groups of five or more reserve an arrival time with Bob Shortell by August 14. Bob can be reached at 503-335-0626.
This is an annual event held at Portland Nursery at 9000 SE Division in the month of September. For more information call Portland Nursery on Division, 503-788-9000.
