Spring Planting

Remember the old saying “Peas by President’s Day?”  Well, not only peas but seeds of all sorts are starting to arrive, and it’s time to start planning early spring direct seeding in the garden as well as the schedule for starting seeds indoors for later transplanting.

Territorial Seed Catalogs are in, and this year again we are carrying their full selection of vegetables and herbs. We will once again be carrying Renee's Garden Seeds, Botanical Interest, Lake Valley and Ed Hume. There will also be some small, specialty seed companies on hand as well: for example, the rack of Fragrant Gardens' enticing selection of sweet pea seeds is up and ready to peruse for this year’s choices of that old fashioned favorite cutting flower.
