Our Division location, at 9000 SE Division, offers Landscape Design as a special service for gardeners.
Our designers will work with you to create a custom planting plan and plant list. Our designs are created in-office and rely on site measurements and photographs received by the customer at the initial consultation. We focus on plant composition, and do not offer hardscape plans, such as decks, patios, retaining walls, etc.
All you need to do is fill out our Landscape Questionnaire. The questionnaire provides instructions for collecting the base information needed about your project. Print it out or pick it up at Portland Nursery on Division Street.

Design Service Fees
Consultation: $100 flat fee, due at initial consultation appointment
Planting Plan: In exchange for your planting plan, you purchase yourself a gift card in an amount based on the square footage of your project. (See plant credit chart.)
Plant Credits
Customers purchase gift cards in amounts based on the square footage of the proposed garden site. Our gift cards never expire and can be used towards plants and materials purchased at either location.
To determine your square footage, multiply overall length by width.
Up to 100 square feet
$100 plant credit
- a small perennial border, parking strip planting, indoor or outdoor container planting.
101 - 500 square feet
$250 plant credit
- focal bed in an existing garden, large mixed borders, entryway plantings
501 - 1000 square feet
$500 plant credit
- small yard, large themed garden
1001+ square feet
$500 + $50 per each additional 100 sq. feet over 1001
- full design for front and/or back yard

ABOUT OUR SERVICES
We create landscape designs for customers based on information they collect at their site. We can create designs for nearly any project, from containers to borders to large urban lots.
Our designs are hand drawn to scale and are accompanied by a plant list to assist in shopping.
Steps to Obtaining a Design
1. Download our Landscape Questionnaire or pick up a copy at our store. Be sure to get input from everyone who will live with the garden.
2. Take site measurements and photos, following the instructions found on the questionnaire. Be sure to have the photos printed.
3. Call 503-788-9000 and ask to make a consultation appointment with one of our designers. Consultations are available by appointment only and cost a flat fee of $100.
In exchange for our design service, you purchase yourself a gift card based on the square footage of your project.
Consultation fee is due at the first appointment. Gift cards are purchased at the final design presentation appointment.

Terrie has a knack for finding landscape solutions that are both practical and beautiful, and is especially experienced with wildlife friendly, drought tolerant, and edible gardens.

Jason comes to us from Knoxville, Tennessee where he earned his horticulture degree with a focus on landscape design.
Jason's talent for combining texture and color has been shown in both his outdoor and indoor plantscapes, and he is especially experienced with shade, edible, and tropical gardens.
