Tough and reliable, Geranium ‘Rozanne’ is a clump forming herbaceous perennial with brilliant violet, blue blossoms that repeat bloom throughout the spring and summer and into fall. This geranium is deciduous and prefers well-drained organic soil with moderate water. Geranium ‘Rozanne’ is versatile, looking great in perennial borders, rock gardens and cottage gardens. Minimal care is needed aside from a mid-season shearing to clean up old blooms.
Delosperma cooperi is perfect for tough dry and hot spots where a ground cover is needed. Flowers on green fleshy leaves are purple-carmine with white centers. Plants bloom throughout the growing season and spread slowly over time. This variety is semi-evergreen and overwinters easily when planted in well-drained soil.

Preferring moist and well-drained soil it is also drought tolerant and low maintenance once established. Salvia ‘Amistad’ is a recently introduced Salvia guaranitica that is receiving acclaim. Evergreen and drought tolerant, chartreuse yellow flowers with red tips appear in late spring and early summer. Named after famed gardener and crocosmia enthusiast, George Davidson, this yellow blooming cultivar is known for its hardiness and butter-yellow blooms on tall singular stems. Bloom time for this crocosmia is earlier than many others with blossoms opening in mid to late summer. This plant is perfect for the cutting garden or the wildlife garden. Hummingbirds love this plant, visiting it frequently once in bloom.
Nepeta ‘Six Hills Giant’ is a charming deciduous perennial that forms a clump of aromatic grey-green leaves with lavender-blue flowers on spikes in summer. The flowers are trumpet-shaped and small, but numerous, forming a cloud of blue above the foliage. This plant is low maintenance, drought tolerant and attracts butterflies, bees and hummingbirds. Locate the plant along a pathway for best exposure to its wonderful smell. Perfect for cottage gardens, drought-tolerant gardens, wildlife gardens and cutting gardens.
A member of the Big Sky series of coneflowers, ‘Sundown’ is a cross between Echinacea purpurea and Echinacea paradoxa. Flowers begin a fluorescent rose pink, mature to bright rose-orange and fade to soft purple-pink. In the center of the flower is a large cinnamon-brown, button-shaped cone. Blooms are fragrant and plants are well-branched, strong and bushy in habit. This wonderful Echinacea attracts butterflies, bees and also birds in winter if cones are left in place. Echinacea ‘Sundown’ is low maintenance and drought tolerant. It is perfect for cottage gardens, naturalized gardens, cutting gardens and wildlife gardens.
This new series of dahlia hybrids has helped to bring dahlias into the modern era. The foliage is filigreed dark mahogany to black in color and the blossoms are single and outward facing, coming in a variety of bright contemporary hues. The plant is also compact in stature, thereby not requiring staking. Colors found in the series include ‘Mystic Enchantment’ with fire engine red blooms, ‘Mystic Illusion’ with bright yellow flowers and ‘Mystic Dreamer’ with pale pinkish white blooms.
